Carlos weakens but coastal towns still on alert
AP – Some coastal towns closed their schools and small boats were ordered off the sea near the popular beach resort of Puerto Vallarta as a weakening Hurricane Carlos swirled up Mexico’s southwestern coast.

AP – Tropical Storm Carlos has strengthened slightly and is sitting still over the Pacific Ocean south of Mexico. Carlos is expected to generate heavy rains and strong swells during the next few days.
