Christmas is one of the most popular festivities among the Mexican population, not only because the family gathers to spend quality time together but, because by law, every employee gets paid an end-of-year bonus.
This bonus has to be paid before Dec. 20, and cannot be less than the amount earned by the employee in 15 days of work.
However, the happier Mexicans are the ones who work in top positions for the national government, such as the president, legislators and the members of the Supreme Court of Justice.
All of them will receive large bonuses, and, in some cases, their bonus will be 500 percent higher than what any minimum wage worker earns, according to a www.sinmebargo.mx investigation. The minimum wage in Mexico is now $4 per day.
As an example, Peña Nieto will receive a $5,219 Christmas bonus, while the senators will be able to spend a $16,083 Christmas bonus, $3,000 less than congresspeople.
On top of his bonus, Peña Nieto will also receive an extra “reward” of $22,000.
Cheers so much, this data ended up being spot on to me. Items save this great site intended for potential upadtes. Thanks again.
